Clam Upweller : Nylon Mesh Screening

I’ve been using your 500 mesh (M500)nylon screening for several years in our clam upweller system. My problem with this screening is that it stretches when wet. Have tried stainless and it does not work due to corrosion. I need an equivalent 500 micron mesh in plastic that does not stretch.

Better protein skimmer with air stones

I have an mtc countercurrent protein skimmer with 2 air stones that need to be replaced and have read on the boards that you carry a particular type that last much longer than the traditional wooden ones. Which ones do you recommend? Also someone mentioned that it was a 30cfm unit.

Off-site filter systems

If I drilled 2 holes in my 200 gal tank one for water in and one for water out and ran these hoses to a off-site filter systems. Is there a filter system that would work like this.

Proper filter for 3700 gal pond?

Wave Pressurized Pre-filter, couldn’t find on your website, read about it in Koi USA. Do I need a second pump to bring water to the pre fliter? I have a brand new 3700 gal. pond and I am gathering info to make my first purchase the right one. I am also looking at an Aquadyne bead filter, the 2.2B is probably to big but the smaller one does not have the Dynamax air blower for eazy backwashing. Any suggestions on the proper filter, or a different brand?

Why Do My Fish Stay So Far Away from the Pond Filter?

The fish do not go near the filter. For three weeks now. Does the filter emit a noise or pulse that would scare the fish. They remain on the other side of my pond. Thank you in advance for addressing these problems. The filter does a nice job at keeping the water clean, I just need to know how to clean the filter.

Do I Need Extra Parts to Install My Pond Filter?

I am interested in ordering the pressure filter media called “lightweight sand filter media” JF1 or JF2. I have a 3.3 ft3 Jacuzzi Laser 250L pool/sand filter. Hvow much of this stuff is needed for a proper fill volume (due to the fact it expands 30-50% DURING A BACKFLUSH? I do not want to loose the media during backflush. Also your description mentions a “restricting valve on the backflush drain, how do I obtain this part and is there instructions on how to install this on my filter?

My Filter Isn’t Leaving Enough Oxygen in My Pond, What Should I Do?

In the spring I (55, femaile, by myself with your support and the Sta Rite manual:thank you) exchanged sand for your lightweight filter media (JF1 & JF 2)for my 2500 gal koi pond.

The problem is with flow. The water return slows to a trickle within 2 - 3 days of backwashing. It is more than just a hassel to do it so often: the dissolved oxygen in the water is affected and I find the fish under the water return gasping for air in the morning, like today. I am told that I needed to ‘open more holes’ in the ‘lateral extensions.” Either by ‘breaking off some of the teeth or drilling holes in the estension.” This I am told, is because the new media allows for more debrie to pass into the filter.

First: please let other customers know this so that they do not have to start over.

Secondly HELP! Is there anything else I should know before I break down the filter, vacuum all the media out and drill more holes (somewhere)and then return the media????
