What I’m trying to is create a vacuum for floor sanding application. I would like to have the vacuum mounted in a van and a 1.5 inch hose into the house about 80 ft a wye attached then another 40 ft of 1.5 inch hose on each branch to run two machines. the biggest machine has a vacuum already and puts out about 200 cfm into a bag. I want to remove the bags and replace them with a hose to get all the dust outside. I’ve been told by many people that a PD pump is the way to power this anywhere from 250 to 300 cfm at 8 to 12 hg. I will be limited by power which would be electric single phase 5 to 7.5 hp. What size pump would do the job here? There is another way to go here and that is to use a regenerative blower maybe 4 or 5 hp and mount it at the base of a two wheel cart frame with a 15 gallon filter above it. This unit would be light enough to take into the houses and use a shorter length of hose still using a pre-separator. Fuji makes a unit like this but unfortunately it uses a 3 phase motor. There is a company that makes a 2 hp version of this idea but their performance is marginal.
